Our founder, a Long Island native, has a diverse and interesting background. After selling the last of his car dealerships, for which he was the operating partner, in early 2005, Steven moved with his wife and children to sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. Later that year, Steven founded Scottsdale Jean Company, which would quickly become the most well known and largest Arizona based retailer of designer jeans and clothing.
As someone who is constantly seeking to elevate his body, conditioning and nutrition to a higher level, Steven quickly immersed himself in the much healthier west coast lifestyle, including the more progressive fitness and healthy food offerings.
By 2009, Steven was experiencing chronic pain and stiffness resulting from twenty-five years of martial arts and many years of competitive car and cart racing. Melissa has been a group fitness and private instructor for over 15 years. Her own personal experience, coupled with extensive knowledge from her education and trainings, allows Melissa to spread peace, light and good health to others.
Melissa first developed a passion for dance and fitness as a young girl. After graduating from Ithaca College with a business degree and a minor in dance and theatre, she landed a job in advertising. Melissa later obtained certifications from Mad Dog Athletics and Schwinn. She also completed several New York City marathons as well as spin events and cycling races raising money for various charities.
She eventually left the corporate world to raise her three children and begin a new career in the health and fitness field. Max has dedicated her entire adult life to the fitness industry and comes us instructor with a loyal following. Since playing varsity soccer while attending the University of Maryland, Max has studied anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience. The knowledge obtained from these studies, combined with Max’s drive, energy and endearing personality, led to her becoming a highly sought after personal trainer. At the same time, Max was participating in many fitness competitions, where she last placed 2nd at the NPC Eastern USA at age 40.
After sustaining numerous injuries over the years, Max grew tired of weight training and began to explore the burgeoning practice of yoga. Yoga provided a regimen to maintain her physique without putting damaging stress on her body and joints. It also allowed Max to tone, stretch, and condition her muscles more efficiently and effectively than anything she’d done before, plus there is the added benefit of a deeper mind/body connection.
In 2005, Dawn first discovered yoga to help balance her somewhat hectic lifestyle, and five years later received her 200 hour Vinyasa Yoga Certification from Joschi Yoga Institute in NYC. A year later, Dawn obtained her 80 hour Level 2/3 Barkan Method Hot Vinyasa certification. In addition to teaching a variety of yoga styles, Dawn is also a certified Barre Instructor.

Ari's lives by the creed that there is nothing more fulfilling than being able to make a difference in someone else's life. Her love for boxing, including training for well over a decade and competing in amateur matches in 2008, evolved into a passion for training others and inspiring them to not just be fit but to live fit.
Ari is certified by the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and the American Red Cross. She is a wife and mother of two, who enjoys giving back to the community, always trying to set an example for her children and others to follow. Her infectious energy and spirit is evident in all her classes.

Liz Baum began her dance career at the age of 3 studying ballet at Woodbury Studio of Dance Arts in New York. Liz was trained by professional dancers and former Rockettes, igniting her passion for artistry and technique, and inspiring her to continue to master dance. Liz chose her high school for its acclaimed dance program and the opportunity to study dance during school hours, competing in a variety of competitions throughout the area. In 2001, Liz graduated from Fairfield University with a BA in Communication and Spanish. Liz contributed to the choreography and performed for the annual recital at the Fairfield Dance Ensemble.
Liz also teaches at other facilities, including dance-based classes, Zumba as well as Total Body Strength and Water Aerobics. As a mother of two young children, Liz understands the motivation and time required to stay fit. She prides herself on her ability to design classes that are engaging and up-beat.
