Our founder, a Long Island native, has a diverse and interesting background. After selling the last of his car dealerships, for which he was the operating partner and helped build to $100M in annual revenue, Steven moved with his wife and children to sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. Later that year, Steven founded Scottsdale Jean Company, which would quickly become the most well known and largest Arizona based retailer of designer jeans and clothing, offering over 100 premium brands for women and men.

As someone who is constantly seeking to elevate his body, conditioning and nutrition to a higher level, Steven quickly immersed himself in the much healthier west coast lifestyle, including the more progressive fitness and healthy food offerings.

Melissa has been a group fitness and private instructor for over 15 years. Her own personal experience, coupled with extensive knowledge from her education and trainings, allows Melissa to spread peace, light and good health to others.

Melissa first developed a passion for dance and fitness as a young girl. After graduating from Ithaca College with a business degree and a minor in dance and theatre, she landed a job in advertising. Melissa later obtained certifications from Mad Dog Athletics and Schwinn. She also completed several New York City marathons as well as spin events and cycling races raising money for various charities.

She eventually left the corporate world to raise her three children and begin a new career in the health and fitness field. After years of teaching spin and serving as a personal trainer, Melissa found yoga, which helped heal years of wear and tear from her various activities and provided her the gift of becoming more mentally present. Bonne is known for the energy and enthusiasm she brings to each of her classes – and the results her students realize. Bonne’s own weight loss journey enables her to better connect and empathize with those struggling with similar issues.

Bonne has been in the fitness industry since 1986, earning numerous certifications from the Aerobic Fitness Association of America (AFAA), including Step, Spin, Bosu™, Pre/Post Natal, Youth Fitness, Aqua, and Personal Training. She can be found leading classes in everything from sculpting to spin to fusion classes, teaching for many of New York City’s top health clubs over the years, including Crunch, New York Health & Racquet, and Reebok Sports Club. Bonne has since become a popular instructor on Long Island.

Rochelle is a busy mother of two toddlers. She RYT200 certified instructor, is certified in kids & baby yoga, and holds a Masters degree in Education.

The practice of yoga, specifically the combination of movement and breath, have helped Rochelle personally, upon beginning her yoga journey in 2006. She now aspires to share yoga's benefits with those of all ages, believing that the awareness, focus, and insight gained from yoga can transform the way we live.

Rochelle enjoys sharing her passion and enthusiasm for yoga as she leads Hot Flow Yoga classes at The Modern, and is also available for private, semi-private and small group training.

Ari's lives by the creed that there is nothing more fulfilling than being able to make a difference in someone else's life. Her love for boxing, including training for well over a decade and competing in amateur matches in 2008, evolved into a passion for training others and inspiring them to not just be fit but to live fit.

Ari is certified by the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and the American Red Cross. She is a wife and mother of two, who enjoys giving back to the community, always trying to set an example for her children and others to follow. Her infectious energy and spirit is evident in all her classes.

Ari leads our Total Body Sculpt classes and is also available for private, semi-private and small group training.

In 2005, Dawn first discovered yoga to help balance her somewhat hectic lifestyle, and five years later received her 200 hour Vinyasa Yoga Certification from Joschi Yoga Institute in NYC. A year later, Dawn obtained her 80 hour Level 2/3 Barkan Method Hot Vinyasa certification. In addition to teaching a variety of yoga styles, Dawn is also a certified Barre Instructor.

Dawn leads our Hot Flow Yoga classes and is also available for private, semi-private and small group training.
